Two members of Semetrical’s content team, Alice Schulz and Sophie Mizrachi, recently took off their specs and put on their running shoes to complete 13.1 miles for two incredible charities. We are very proud to announce that they have collectively raised over £1000 for Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and British Heart Foundation, running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October 2019.

The Royal Parks Half was started as an annual fundraising initiative, raising sustainable funds to support London’s Royal Parks, and enables charities of all sizes to be involved in a major event. Since the event was set up in 2008, it has raised £43 million for over 1,000 UK charities.

Alice and Sophie rose to the challenge, battled the elements and brought their families along, bedecked with umbrellas, to watch them endure the two and a half hour race. To our delight, our committed content specialists still hobbled into work on Monday morning with a few aches and pains but a well-deserved sense of achievement to show for it.

“The British Heart Foundation funds extensive research into a range of heart and circulatory diseases and is a charity very close to my heart. At the moment, studies are being carried out to find better ways of diagnosing life-threatening conditions, to understand who is most at risk and find treatments to ultimately prevent them. I want to help in any way I can and urge others to do the same as we cannot bring our loved ones back but we can do our part to help others in the future.”

“Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a charity that’s dedicated to the protection and preservation of Kenya’s wildlife. At the heart of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is the pioneering Orphans’ Project that has successfully hand-raised over 230 orphaned adorable elephants. They also operate twelve De-Snaring Teams and five Mobile Veterinary Units, as well as an Aerial Surveillance team that works tirelessly, around the clock, to provide protection to all wildlife. It was a pleasure to be able to contribute in a small way to Sheldrick’s amazing work, helping to save the lives of those who can’t defend themselves! ”
